Rodriguez v. Bush

NICANOR PEREZ RODRIGUEZ v. DENNIS BUSH
US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, Floyd, Nov. 23, 2016,
IAC- Defense attorney’s failure to object when trial court rejected plea agreement was not ineffective assistance of counsel

Where trial court rejected plea, stating that they were ready for trial, trial attorney “was, myself, professionally confused as to how to proceed” and did not object.

There is no federal right to a plea agreement, no prejudice when attorney failed to object to its rejection by trial court
